How to pronounce“neurodiversity”in English

'Neurodiversity' is a pretty new term and I'm very grateful for it it It gets to something that is absolutely real and has been harder to discuss before it existed

Neurodiversity refers to the many intricate and complex ways in which the human brain differs from one person to the next.

Neurodiversity is a term first coined in 1988 by Judy Singer, the Australian sociologist.

But neurodiversity is so much more than disability and disability inclusion.

the marriage between neurodiversity and creativity.

So when we say neurodiversity, I mean, I think especially with autism, it's important not to make assumptions because it's not a coherent term.

to deal with neurodiversity.

So although this book is not about neurodiversity, that was something that was always on the back of my mind while writing it.

And those are basically what we call neurodiversity.

But how is love connected to neurodiversity?

because if we say that neurodiversity can be a story of love, then why don't we feel warm and fuzzy all the time?

But what's really interesting with neurodiversity is that the social body that others can see

and the company as a whole in neurodiversity in the workplace.

and working environment to accommodate their neurodiversity.

And I think what gets really interesting with neurodiversity is that we are essentially talking about differences with the nervous system, but a lot of people

I think that love is actually the story of neurodiversity because love can be both an emotion and an action as well.

So one of the ways of then thinking about neurodiversity and love is to think about what actually love and emotions are

So really when we talk about love and neurodiversity, we can think about, what can neurodiversity enable us to do?

My hope is that through the lens of neurodiversity, we can celebrate each others differences and see the person first,

So basically, when we talk about neurodiversity, we are talking about the differences in our factory settings that enables us to function

And so we've been working very hard to make sure that definitions of neurodiversity show up on our diversity internal site and things

I know this is not something a lot of people necessarily say in the neurodiversity movement.

And so, especially organizations that recognize neurodiversity, for example, will do things in a team

lie and but that's a really important feature in itself so like whatever the neurodiversity of your whatever your brain is not putting um

I'm also discovering that the impact of neurodiversity on--

And so the way that I describe neurodiversity is I start by describing what diversity is.

Because at the moment, often when we talk about neurodiversity on neurodistinct people, we can get very stuck on talking about disabilities, superpower,

And it's so true because we've been-- we, the activists around neurodiversity and making people understand that better.

But they're doing shows now where they have an autistic Muppet to teach kids about neurodiversity.

Asperger's. So I hope we can get to bigger questions of neurodiversity through this.

So do you want to talk to us a little bit about your thoughts and your research on the term neurodiversity?

And it's for that reason that each of us has a vested interest in creating a world in which neurodiversity,

Because like biodiversity that accounts for the rich vibrance in our natural environment, neurodiversity accounts for

Yeah, and social, I guess, justice issues are really interesting to me at the moment, as well, just everything from neurodiversity, to women's issues, to issues including

individuals do not always interview well, and very commonly they didn't do well in school 'cause our school systems, they are not well-designed to deal with neurodiversity.

Yet I don't see inclusion as zero of some, and I'd love to add to this rich conversation, the concept of neurodiversity.
