Westinghouse is so focused on like perfecting everything and Tesla doesn't
Westinghouse was the Craftsman Tesla was the idea guy I mean
Westinghouse is building those same plants in China, and their capital cost for the first ones are $2 per watt, not $6.
George westing house kind of way buys some patents from he kind of looks at the thing he wants to make he buys some
But Westinghouse, in large part because JP Morgan-- the banker who was not exactly a nice man, he wasn't--
So Westinghouse was in not great shape.
So Westinghouse goes to Tesla and says, I'm in a real jam here.

and westinghouse's entire system and conceptually he was the genius that made

interesting about George westing house like who was he and I sort of remember a few things kind of from some stuff I'd
um does this demonstration Westinghouse sees the demonstration hires him licenses his patents Edison goes or Tesla goes to work for westing house for
He worked at Westinghouse up the road from Wapakoneta in a town called Lima, Ohio.
And so Westinghouse bought, initially, his patents for his electric motor.
of George Westinghouse um there isn't really a proper biography of Nicola Tesla there's a couple things but no one
possible uh Westinghouse uh invented his first big thing was he invented this
royalties by Westinghouse to the system um ends up dying penniless and alone in
bit of Westinghouse and a bit of Tesla all three components are required um to come up with something that Earth
So Tesla goes to Westinghouse, spends about nine months at Westinghouse, working on the routine engineering problems, and basically says, this isn't for me.

come no one ever talks about George westing house he was an interesting guy um
On the other side is Westinghouse Window, basically, a very early iPad like thing that was still connected
tried to squeeze out George Westinghouse not long after the Niagara project.
So he turns to George Westinghouse and says, oh, you've been nice to me.

Here's a 1922 advertisement from the Westinghouse Company about an electric stove.
on a job at the Westinghouse factory that his dad worked at for 12 hours a day.
um in the imitation game to to Edison westing house and Tesla uh and their relationship in this book um and so
bulb um and so biographically what that meant from Westing House's perspective was you know he was
book comes from at this point um Edison W Westing has start selling these bulbs Edison sues him for patent infringement
that's what was interesting to me about westing house is that I feel like he he never gets enough credit like he's so it

makes so much money for the railroads and Westinghouse gets so rich doing this
Corporation but extremely profitable um and so that's when Westinghouse um basically looked at what Edison was
can do this a lot better um and so Westinghouse in his very like boring old
story um but so so so this is the Rivalry between Edison and westing house and I think
like let's sell people lots of light bulbs let put them in their homes westing house was so much more let's
a bit lasts I think less than 6 months in Pittsburgh working for westing house for exactly the same reasons um that
We just bought a business in the United States out of a bankruptcy called Westinghouse.
which he essentially made possible because he formed this partnership with George Westinghouse to do the Niagara Falls project.
In this case, it was George Westinghouse, and Tesla basically walked away with the cash.
