and started Verve .
but maybe Verve is not the right culture for you.
So when we started Verve for the first, I'm not sure, six, seven years, or so,
Does anybody remember the Verve Pipe?
Studies done with vervet monkeys, with rhesus monkeys, and with chimps shows the same sex-specificity of toy preferences.
Because when I first heard those Verve recordings that were very high fidelity-- and it was like just everything ..
He was our first employee at Verve -- a few other people, and dropping into the world that became barista culture, third wave coffee,
Every single employee that ever worked at Verve .
And that's what we've done Verve .
If you have a lot of Verve , maybe that's the energy you feel when you come into a Verve café.
I've been listening to Verve , and Travis, and Coldplay, and Oasis.
We're a new band on Verve Universal and we're really happy that Google -- that you guys are having us come here and play for your --
And fortunately, Verve put out a series of records that were high fidelity, and then I could hear it.
of my my favorites it's uh it's called Verve and you can see just the level of fidelity um that you have represented in
It's your job to open it with verve .
I don't want there to ever be a fake vibe at Verve .
But at a certain point you have to trust your instincts and your creative verve to be able to fashion that in a certain way, where it just doesn't seem like you again
For example, we've known since 1992 that vervet monkeys use different kinds of alarm calls to communicate that different kinds of predators
And so, well, we got into Verve , and wanting to figure out how we could do something different.
And the second piece of that is, how you see Verve in relation to some of the other players in this space?
What, from your perspective, really sets Verve apart from the pack?
But, at the end of the day, at Verve , we just go our own path, and be really nice to people, really
Yeah, and then we got our name Verve .
It originally came because it's a record label, Verve Records.
the karaoke room because all your theories that you bring in can be completely invalidated by one dude singing the Verve Pipe.
And I said, well, I've heard all these records on Verve , and I learned this solo and that solo.
So it was definitely a critical decision, which then led me to my next decision, which was to start Verve with my business partner Ryan
But as you scale, 40, 50, 80, 100, 200 employees we have at Verve now.
And that's a little bit of, I think, what you experience when you come in to Verve , and you have people smile and greet at you.
I mean, our sourcing program at Verve , farm level, we call it,
And Ryan, because we both play music and jazz, said, what about Verve ?
And, to me, I just really believe that-- not like what we do is so important, like Verve .
I like suave, V-words, such as Svengali, svelte, bravura, verve .
And this dude, who was another one of those awesome 22-year-olds, he gets up, and he starts doing "The Freshmen" the Verve .
And of course, I was like, OK, if we're going to the '90s one-hit wonders, I'll see your Verve Pipe, and I'll raise you
Sometimes people, they feel like doing a long, sad song, like that damn Verve Pipe song.
