that you're absorbing. Ironically, there are some people who are studying sound and hearing, and discovering that haptics , the sense of touch, can augment people's ability to hear. And so in a very dramatic way, I think you're telling us very much the same thing.
was seen as something which was going to be the end for blind people because it had no buttons. There was no haptic interaction because of the flat screen. But actually Apple had developed a lot of accessibility options that we all know about-- voice reading, screen reading, all that sort of stuff.
OK, a few of you. So there's a haptic suit in there, and so we've got that. And so we're launching this with High Fidelity, which is, of you guys remember Second Life, High Fidelity is the guy who started that.
We've got a very accurate tracking system that can move sounds around the room. We've got haptic devices that can move your arms. We started working with virtual scent.

It was just coming from a completely different direction. So I think the haptics are really great when it comes to something that is steady. But if we can find a way to get the emotion of the sound through haptics , I think, wow, that would be incredible.
Now you might say, well, how do they elicit those preferences? They do it haptically. They give different mannequins.
And it has a big virtual reality component, and so a few weeks ago, we went up to San Luis Obispo. And we actually went to visit this place that develops haptic technology. And we got to put on headsets and gloves and play with VR and play in the VR world, and kind of do
The second group saw a video shot from the shoulder of a lumberjack. The third put on the goggles and had a haptic device that gave them touch feedback. And they actually had to cut down two trees.

They're a little less clicky than I personally like, but I can still type really fast on them. See, it's got the function keys, the haptic trackpad is large and honestly, it looks literally like 90% of the MacBook Pro size. And the fingerprint reader in the corner, it is a bit slower, but it works all the same.
You're seeing digital content all around you. You're able to interact with that through either controllers or hand tracking or some other haptic device. And then on the augmented reality side, you're overlaying digital content, whether that be 2D or 3D content, onto the physical world.
And they're always developing. And it's fantastic. And I remember wearing a haptic vest, really. And there was this piece of music that was being fed through the vest.
I'm back in Santa Monica, where I live. And at home, I've got on a pair of VR goggles and a haptic suit. And as I'm moving around, the robot's moving around.
Because they're basically like shoes. Although the way that these things are usually performed right now is with sort of a haptic armature.

But what we're doing with this now is we've just made this for social VR, where you can-- it's a haptics suit, so that while you're in VR and people are touching you, you feel that.
And I know some of you might be interested, or work on prosthetics, and you are concentrating on haptics and neurofeedback and instantaneous response.
