Gorongosa is almost like full up again.
And Gorongosa was a gem in the 1960s.
And Gorongosa was pretty much the geographic center of that conflict between rebels and government.

So the success in Gorongosa has prompted an even bolder vision.
And lions were the symbol of Gorongosa and there were 100s of them.
There were lots of conflicts in Gorongosa .
But that was the way Gorongosa was after the civil war, and the way it would probably remain, were it not for an American philanthropist named
I wanted to show you what Gorongosa looked like at the time, too.
So the major feature of Gorongosa is a huge lake at its center called Lake Urema.
And so the vision for Gorongosa is to expand it.

It's a remarkable comeback story because Gorongosa was given up for dead.
And unfortunately, Gorongosa was one of the main battlefields.
I'll tell you what's going on in Gorongosa now.
There's a pretty good number of crocs in Gorongosa .
And I'm really happy to report that Gorongosa is now home to probably 50 times as many large animals as existed there 20 years ago.
