And with everything that went on with the doping scandal, I think I made the right choice.

You know we have this very black and white viewpoint of doping that you're either a drug cheat or you're not.

I did a piece for the "New Yorker" a couple weeks ago about doping in sports.

I think it's because I thought everybody was using drugs or doping.

Now they refer to it as light doping i.e. like stimulants and caffeine whereas now it's heavy doping.

But I would suggest hesitantly that actually incrementally over those 10 years the instances of doping have come down, year on year.

It happened with me and Stephan Schumacher after his time trial win where I basically accused him of doping.

And it's just so complex you know there's this huge gray area, and the actual line between doping and clean is moving all the time.
