the physical switches to disconnect the webcam or the microphone independently... built into the bezel ... That is nice. So just a quick note, you've probably noticed by now that I'm using...
But they're also the same company that will try absolutely insane stuff, like the Galaxy Note Edge back in the day where like one side of the display curved over the bezel for the first time, and then that turned into the other Galaxy S edges where both sides melted over. They did the Galaxy Note first, which is this huge display, and then of course Galaxy Fold, which is super early and risky.
It's now gearless, and it's much smaller. So now the bezel to the left of the cover screen is much thinner and it's closer to even all the way around, and it has this nice smooth motion, a satisfying kind of heavy resistance.
They do all this stuff well... There's relatively even bezels all the way around, and then it's squared off... so it's easy to open and close. Like a notebook...
Especially for not being an OLED. It has these thin bezels all the way around. It's a slightly anti-glare finish.
but there were obviously a ton of compromises back then to make that happen for the first time. From the huge bezels on that cover screen, to... to the smaller, subpar cameras and battery and other specs, the extremely compromised durability, and of course the crease, the massive crease through the middle. So every year,
And it's covered in a slightly newer Gorilla Glass 7i instead of Gorilla Glass 3. And they say the bezels are just a tiny bit thinner. It's also a slightly faster 30-watt peak charging rate, up from 23-watts.
Kinda looks like a Porsche Taycan from the side profile, if I'm not crazy. It has these thin bezels like the Polestar and then a thicker taillight across the back which kinda looks maybe like a Lincoln or some others. And then there's a fully active wing on the back that kinda looks like a Mercedes-AMG GT.
It still has a selfie camera cut out in the corner. It still has that aggressively medium bezel all the way around, and it still has that very visible crease through the middle that you can easily feel with your finger, but you kind of learn to live with over time.
I've seen. I mean, this phone is 1 mm thinner and slightly lighter overall. And I guess those inner screen bezels got a little tiny bit slimmer, but this is not the thinnest foldable out there. It's still got a bit of a crease. It's not terrible, and it does kind of still disappear to the eye when you're looking
I wish there was a black one. The thing about like these orange bezels showing around the front, it bothered me a little bit, but I've set up a kind of an orange wallpaper to try to just own the Creamsicle thing.
But the new smaller Fold 8, while this is being positioned just a bit more as like a media-focused type of size, the outer screen is 5 1/2 inches. It's a 10 by 16 aspect ratio with pretty thin bezels all the way around. But then that makes the inside screen...
This is the Pro Max, so it's the same size, 6.9 inch diagonal, as the iPhone Pro Max. Pretty similar, even bezels all the way around. Now it's actually slightly beat on resolution, but you can never tell that with your eyes.
And I'll talk more about the panel in a second, but... you can see it has a little more character with the transparent-colored bezels . So you can actually see, like, some of the magnets and the webcam assembly.
And they were on top of the world by the OnePlus 7 series. They'd iterated on the design quite a bit with thinner and thinner bezels and fingerprint readers and bigger batteries and much faster charging. And they'd obviously moved on from CyanogenMod, but now they had their own flavor of Android, OxygenOS, which was this super smooth and fast,
And so the newer foldables just feel more pleasant to use, even when open too. The lighter weight makes a difference, the thinner bezels make a difference, the lesser creases on other foldables makes a difference too. This is also essentially the exact same cameras as last year, which is to say almost flagship quality.
of bicts the West Bank. So that is why really for about three decades Israel has shelved plans to develop there. That changed last year when the farright finance minister Bezel Smotridge who also has responsibilities for setting Israeli government policy in the West Bank. He announced that there would be
it's nice. It's also high refresh rate. It also has higher frequency PWM dimming, but also the bezels aren't perfectly even all the way around. And the anti-glare finish on here, whatever it is, it's definitely worse than the more premium phones out...
They'd one by one engineered away all of the downsides of a foldable, from the front bezels to the cameras to the crease
that's the watermark. And so over the years of smartphone screens, they've gotten bigger and bigger, they've gotten thinner bezels .
N6 does seem kind of random that this is now peak foldable, but I actually think by the end of this video you'll agree with me. So the obvious problem number one with old foldables was that they sucked to use one-handed since they're thicker, they have worse bezels , and just they're generally compromised versus a normal slab phone.
in the middle. And the crease, you know, it's just one of those things where on most phones, most of the time, it doesn't bother you. Trust me, as someone who's used these phones, I've said before: it's like bezels . Most of the time, you're just looking at the content or reading or typing, so you're not really seeing it.
because these were the old colors for Pixel 9a and now these are the new colors now named Fog, Obsidian, Berry and Lavender. The display at the front, it's the same 6.3 inches with well-rounded corners and semi-thick bezels . Hole-punch top-middle still, fingerprint under-the-glass still, it's still the 60 to 120Hz display.
They put those styling touches, those aluminum fins on everything. The bezels around the headlights have got cooling fins on them. The little rod that holds the rearview mirror
