The food waste, by tens of millions of growers with overly abundant gardens, while their nearby neighbors went hungry. His nonprofit, AmpleHarvest.org, created a whole new supply channel, for the American food safety net. Not by buying and distributing food, as it had usually been done.
It was a quick learn I had to go through. And at this point, AmpleHarvest.org was now a one person operation, largely me. This is 500 pantries in August.
It's going to be out in a month or so. The programs that we have in place for AmpleHarvest.org; it's going to be using time management push technology, a whole bunch of new Google things. We're going to in the future be building GleaningHarvest.org, which will be AmpleHarvest.org on steroids.
We've had wonderful support from the White House, both the president's office and the first lady's office. As of last week, AmpleHarvest.org is now included in Feds Feed Families, which is the US government's own food drive. Given the size of the US government, the largest employer in America.
So this is a huge jump for reducing food waste and improving the nutrition in the country. Next month, AmpleHarvest.org is going to be included in the Google Economic Impact report, which is a huge honor for us. And we're again going to be doing Skip The Flowers.
And most important, it fixes some really critical problems in our country. There are some other really important things about what makes AmpleHarvest.org so important-- so good. One of the key things-- I'm gonna go into that more in a moment-- is that it is so efficient from a cost perspective.
