How to pronounce “wrasse” in English

So the cleaner wrasse, you find them on coral reefs.

And for a wrasse, actually, what they would rather do, if they can get away with it is not eat the isopod, but take a nice bite of skin,

But the cleaner wrasse know that there's only certain times when they can get away with cheating, basically.

watching cleaner wrasse in the wild and also in laboratories.

And it partly happens because the wrasse behaves very well.

And that's also what the wrasse will do if they cheat.

So that is the cleaner wrasse.

Fish would much rather have them picked off by a cleaner wrasse.

But, the wrasse-- I mean they eat thousands of these things a day.

Anywhere else on the reef and that moray eel will just eat that wrasse straight on.

And so basically, the cleaner wrasse is showing us that despite their small size and their small brains, they have evolved the need

For example, this little cleaner wrasse is swimming into the mouth of a large predatory grouper to clean out its teeth from parasites.

And in fact, we've shown that if you take cleaner wrasse away from an area of coral reef, the fish basically get pretty sick.

So, yes, so cleaner wrasse, they will just clean whatever they come across.

So, yes, and the cleaner wrasse.

Now another of my favorite examples of a fish that really shows us it's got more smarts than you might imagine are the cleaner wrasse.

Because a fish would rather not have to make, heal a little bite that it's got from this cleaner wrasse.
