How to pronounce “sweet tea” in English

I don't think sweet tea is part of the soul food canon.

When I do have sweet tea, I do like it strong.

I like the kind of sweet tea where the spoon stands up straight because it has so much sugar in it.

And you're going to take a sip of sweet tea and it's going to taste horrible.

So if you-- and I would recommend you try this-- let's say you drink sweet tea every day from like South Carolina.

Now, the other thing that's happening is I think sweet tea is starting to lose its southern identity because of McDonald's, Chick Fil A--

you know, all of these chains are now serving sweet tea, and I think people are not going to think of it as southern

But once you get outside the South, the differences sharpen pretty quickly and decisively, and you really don't see sweet tea in a lot of soul food restaurants.

Nobody thinks of that now because Coca-Cola was so effective at making it into a worldwide drink, and I think sweet tea is on its way.
