How to pronounce “saloni” in English

Hi, I'm Saloni.

So I learned a recipe from a woman from Saloniki in Greece, which had a very storied Jewish community that actually perished in the Holocaust.

She explained that 65 years before she had worked in a brothel in Salonika from whence she had been rescued by her husband.

And no one's going to be like, aaah, you're ruining my grandmother's dish from Saloniki.
