And bit by bit, they all piece them together. These payphones turned into events. People started wearing costumes to show up.
So here's this woman, wearing her red hat and purple jacket, as they all do in this society, and in her mobility chair. At a payphone , calling back home to have money wired up so she can return. And she said that wasn't the worst part.

And so I figured, you know, I'm kind of at the bottom of the bucket here in solitary confinement in a federal detention center, but you know that didn't stop me from phone and actually rub my back against the payphone .
And we thought, instead of broadcasting it over the radio to fool an entire nation, what if we tried something a little updated? Why don't we broadcast it over payphones -- literally tens of thousands of ringing payphones -- all over the United States and eventually all over the world? And each of them had a little two-minute clip from this radio drama, and they all fit together like a giant puzzle.
And we called the up steam drive. is the hackers racing around in a car to find a payphone so they can hack into the internet.

And so I figured, you know, I'm kind of at the bottom of the bucket here in solitary confinement in a federal detention center, but you know that didn't stop me from phone And he'd place his chair four feet away from the payphones .
People started wearing costumes to show up. People started forming these huge groups to show up for a single ringing payphone , because we're starting to mobilize that crowd. We're starting to get them excited about this story and unlocking narrative in a way that they've never seen before.
And they were dealing with these literally schoolboys. And we had this static website and we were calling them from a payphone . And they gave us the distribution rights to this color changing nail polish.
But you notice on the wall is a phone. And it's not a recent, sort of payphone looking thing. It's a rotary dial phone.
And it's probably about 1:30-ish, 2 o'clock in the morning. The street kind of veers off, and I stopped at a payphone . So that tells you how long ago this was.
