I mean, immediately my brain starts filling with directors who are terrific who don't write. or objectification or whatever the concern is within the thing.
The "she wanted it" mentality of porn makes its way into the opinions of 13-year-olds, even when it's so obvious that she definitely did not want it. And objectification of women does not stay within the confines of a video. It does not fade away like a video's final shot.
And I think like because Indian society is also completely conditioned to consume popular culture through the eyes of men. So everybody celebrates the objectification of women without even thinking twice about what is it that they're watching and they're loving and dancing to, which is fine as long as there's at least space for an alternative point of view.
And they're sold that in a way that whereas I think parents who are Gen-X parents or who are Baby Boom parents, women that age would have pushed back against that as self-objectification or sexualization. For today's young women, that's sold as a source of empowerment and self-confidence, and often is the most important source
of a woman clothed in a revealing dress] So that brings us to porn of course, [pause while video shows slide with a picture of a woman, and image of Marilyn Monroe on the cover of Playboy Magazine with the caption "Porn=Infidelity and Objectification on bottom of slide] so again the negatives of porn are numerous and all around us and we hear about them every day. It is seen as a cause for everything from marital infidelity to objective, object, objects, I can't even say it. That word there.
So I'll ask you for a little bit of social commentary, if that's OK. I don't even think their plan is to necessarily perpetuate the objectification of women.
And so I'm going to jump to our next question, and I'm just going to ask you to-- let's think about if we had a magical power to transport back into time. So that these dynamics of looks, of exotification, objectification .
You send a gift anonymously to someone that you're given. that you're male. And comments can be kind of quick to jump to sexist or objectification or something.
You have the Amazon Studios executives. But having spent time in a media environment, which arguably has actively perpetuated objectification
It just makes me think of body painting. And there's a whole history of body painting that captures things that I don't really like, including objectification of women. And I'm really interested in capturing a person in their environment, or in their clothes, or their self-expression, and things that are part of them.
And now these guys aren't thinking about the random girls that they want to have sex with. the glorification of violence against women, the overt hyper-sexuality, the objectification .
Till today as I'm here if I pick the phone and say to my mom, "Go to the U.S. Embassy, they will give you your visa, I need you in San Francisco" she drops everything and comes. But yes. But also I mean just to come back as someone working with young people, the, the use of the media and that overt objectification is destroying not just this country, but our
