So anyway, we take our observations. We construct a meteorological model using the known physics of the atmosphere. And then we feed them into a very powerful computer, which is our European Center for Medium-range Weather Forecasting.
You know the way it's getting brighter in the evenings. But statistically and meteorologically, the coldest months in Ireland and in the Northern Hemisphere are December, January, and February. So it doesn't matter how you define something, as long as everybody knows why you're defining it.
it is as if you don't know. Imagine a meteorological model, which reports that tomorrow there is an equal probability of rain, hail, or shine. It may be mathematically accurate, but it is useless for the purposes of prediction.
Students from many local universities, these workers from the meteorological university, some government work units came to protest. And protesting was so normal that instead of asking each other have you eaten yet, people used to greet each other by saying,

So, luckily they never got to control and I'm just hoping that this will be the same case as well, here. And I think one of the goal I had with this book is let's just talk openly about these issues. Always wanted to climb a tree to take a picture. Always liked kind of the elevated perspective. But it's very hard to -- there aren't any meteorological stations out there so that's tough. It's been a big problem.
The storm then went northwards. And at some point of time, meteorological services expected that the storm would turn towards Europe to the east and therefore not cause a danger for the Washington-New York area.
So it's very good, because these warnings are issued by all the national met services. So the official warnings for severe weather in Europe are done by the meteorological services.
That's a weather balloon. There's satellites. So the WMO-- that's the World Meteorological Organization, who do an amazing amount of observations now-- so 10,000 surface weather stations right around the world, 1,000 upper-air.

really, really affected by global warming. Umm, today, the World Meteorological Association announced that this is -- this will with the warmest decade on record and, up, this does affect Santa. He doesn't live at the actual magnetic North Pole. He lives, umm, his facilities are buried underground
a super-powered El Niño brought drought to nearly every continent and destructive floods in North and South America. And another from 1997 to 1998 caused widespread record rainfalls, mudslides, wildfires, and coral bleaching. So, what can we expect with the strength of the current El Niño continuing to gather over the coming months? The World Meteorological Organization's seasonal outlook is predicting temperatures and rainfall far outside of global averages. And a stronger El Niño means more intense shifts in weather. It makes a parade of storms more likely to happen.
And we got ourselves a reservation at a local restaurant with a great picture window. And we arrived Monday, the day of the forecast, storm Monday night, to await this fabulous meteorological light show. And as we sat down to dinner and had a drink and , we couldn't help but notice as the evening wore on,
