So I'm from the Eagle Clan. And I come from Leech Lake, which is one of the Ojibwe reservations in northern Minnesota. I'm excited to see you all and to have a little bit of a conversation.
And we are all different. So there's Leech Lake, epicenter of the universe. Not everybody knows, but I'm on a mission to share.
This is a more egregious example of what happened under the Allotment Act. This is the Leech Lake Reservation in North Central Minnesota. The little red dots you see over that map, those are tribal trust, tribal and individual trust lands.
All of the rest of the land is owned by non-Indians. Largest landowner on the Leech Lake Reservation is the federal government through a national forest. Second largest is a state forest.
