And I mean, Huffman discovered this while he was a student, as a student at MIT, actually, that his professor.

For the insurance guy, Huffman, the point was that it showed that there was something essentially wrong with one group of people.

Similarly, you can see Steve Huffman's sense of humor in the site-- that trollish, nothing is as it seems on the surface--

And we do that over and over again until we get this massive structure called a Huffman tree.

It's taken every page and turned it into something that-- when I was at South by Southwest this last year with Steve Huffman, on the main stage, I asked him--

Yeah, at one point when I was interviewing Steve Huffman on stage, he-- I think we were-- I don't know what I was talking--

And it never really occurred to me, except I was doing this panel with Felicity Huffman.

But anyway, coming back to compression, so again, if you want to actually compress this 1,000 zeros and 1's, there's this really elegant result due to Huffman.

And when you look at, as I say, something like Huffman's coding, it's a really elegant, beautiful piece of mathematics.
