How to pronounce “hornblow” in English

Hornblower might be the beginning of a way to think about "Star Trek," but it certainly was not the end.

You start with Hornblower-- that was Forester, I believe-- and then the Jack Aubrey books

Having read the "Master and Commander" and Horatio Hornblower books, I felt like I was reading that, but at the same time, they're soaring through the air.

Now I was starting to become stoked about the idea of directing a Hornblower movie with spaceships.

It may seem strange how long it took me to understand that while Hornblower might be a way into Star Trek, it wasn't all there was.

When I first started pitching it I tried to tell people that it's sort of X-Men meets Hornblower.

But then I decided that wasn't steampunky enough, so from then on I said it's "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" meets Hornblower.
