How to pronounce “holding pattern” in English

I did my landings, and then, since we were still doing work-ups, we flew back to San Diego, and later found out that the reason that wewere on holding for so long was because a Tomcat had crashed right when we had arrived in the holding pattern.And we had no idea until we got back.
