My group only takes care of the horse racing. The fairgrounds has their own staff that puts on the fair. Every other weekend, you probably guys probably hear there's a hot rod show or a cat show or a dog show.
So we typically write a check to the fairgrounds for just about $11 million a year as our rent payment, our profits. And the fairground breaks even pretty much the rest of the year. They put on a fair that make some money.

And their profits are generally whatever our check to them is. And they use that money to fix up the fairgrounds , do whatever is in the best use of the community. And I heard you guys have added the concert series on Friday, which I believe was one of your initiatives.
And if any of you ever been to San Diego County Fair, It is all encompassing. They take over every square inch of the fairgrounds . There's Ferris wheels. There's rides everywhere.
And I grew up in Marshall. Juneteenth, we'd go to the fairground and there would be music and food, speeches and food, games, and food and food and food.
mind um with one or two words in my head to kind of guide the thought um back to that first sketch but now perhaps a a more elaborate version of the fairground and the gears um which got sort of compressed and changed the gears have disappeared for a moment as we're just looking at belts here and
OK. And he went, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Knocked everything down. And there's the poor fairground guy going-- He's never seen anybody shoot like this. And he got all of them.
And a lot people don't realize this. We're a non-for-profit. Every dime we make we give back to the fairgrounds in form of a rent payment. So we are just a management team.
So since 1970, we've paid approximately $890 million to the state agencies, municipalities. The big numbers are $433 million to the state of California and $345 million to the fairgrounds itself. Wow. So that's a history.
What are you guys hosting there? So the rest of the year, it's just a fairgrounds . The fair just closed.
And it has been described as a comedy of error because the trick was that cosmic rays, particles coming from the universe, were captured in Hayden Planetarium in Manhattan, then sent by telephone, whatever that meant, to the fairgrounds . And when the 10th cosmic ray was captured, a big switch was thrown, and then the fuse blew.
of Chrome usually were families because cars were marketed to families. Now we are in Michigan and, of course, Detroit is known as Motor City and the very first show in Detroit was at the Detroit fairgrounds in 1908 and this is a very rare photograph of that.
