Today it's my pleasure to introduce Peter Brannen, a science journalist who's appeared in "The New York Times," "The Atlantic," "Wired," "Boston Globe," and others. He graduated from Boston College , and also in 2015, he was a journalist in residence at the Duke University National Evolutionary Synthesis Center. In 2011, he was a Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Ocean Science Journalism Fellow.

He's got a long, very rich history working in that complicated interface between energy and environment that dates all the way back to, I guess, the early days of a BS in physics at Boston College . Then he got his doctorate in theoretical physics from Stanford.
Today I'm excited to welcome Lisa Piccirillo to chat with us about her work in topology, as well as her experiences as a woman in the field of math. Lisa did her undergrad at Boston College and received her PhD at the University of Texas at Austin. She is currently an associate professor at MIT.
