I think it's important for us, and the reason it's been successful has been we do have these 28 years of trust that "Allure " has built up. I think everything that we do when it comes to consumer products, and events, and other things is kind of still built
than in the entire 28 year history. So that's just "Allure ," and I think for the entire industry, it's important for all of us, when we can, to be showing that these things can be successful and showing that-- just what it looks like, because I think that the people who are at the helm of some of the other brands--

And throughout these first few years, what do you see as something that your team has done really well at Honor? And so the allure of working with my co-founders again, it was just really good timing in terms of the senior space.
We are feelers. We gave the world the romance of Bollywood films and the music of Ravi Shankar and Zubin Mehta and Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle and the allure of the "Kama Sutra." We are thinkers. We are great at math because we invented numbers.
perhaps, the predominant element of our social and cultural life over the last, say, it's probably fair to say, 60, maybe even a hundred years. I think that we cannot underestimate the power and allure of celebrity. We see these people on the screen all the time. We see them being held up as our role models as "the people" that we should want to be like. And so, we have this craving to be like them. At the same time, our coverage of celebrities,
So much of what we do is really disconnected from our own hearts, what to speak of our souls. Because we're so allured by external conceptions, misconceptions, and concerns that we forgot the larger picture.
The point is that this was all an attractor state propelled by Darwin and human nature. Once you're allured up there, it is in your own Darwinian self-interest to persuade hundreds and thousands of virile young males to go off and fight and die to protect your seraglio for you. And the awesome thing is we're all descended from guys who pulled that shit off.
So I remember when I first started, people would still introduce themselves and say, I'm so-and-so. I'm an editor at "Allure " magazine. So we very much, like, that first week, we're like, you're not an editor at "Allure " magazine, you're an editor at "Allure ."
and they're putting on a full face of makeup. We actually are testing for our "Allure " Best of Beauty Awards right now. And so every season, we test 10,000 products just for that.
And so I wrote my editor's letter about-- after we decided to do that, I actually started looking into how many Asian women had been on the cover of "Allure " in the past 28 years. So in the past 28 years-- and I want to say it was like 327 covers-- there had only been two Asian women.
The first was Lucy Liu over 10 years ago, and then Olivia Munn. So in this one issue of "Allure " where we had the three Asian women on the cover, we actually had more Asian representation than in the entire 28 year history.
Like we want to be the first and last word on any beauty trend, on what the best products are. And if you think about like the "Allure " Beauty Box, it's a monthly subscription that you get. And so what makes ours different from some of the other ones on the market is that it's all editor curated.
This worked for this skin tone, not for this skin tone. We actually had an editor from "Allure " Korea visit recently. And she brought me two boxes, like about this big, like really big, filled with Korean beauty products that you can't buy here.
We've all tried to kicked down and you're like, whoa, I'm not getting anywhere. And it's all part of that allure .
I'm like, . So how long would you say, if you had to boil, how long would you say a typical video takes you from start to finish? Like I'm a dedicated "Allure " reader, and I know that like a lot of people go to-- "Allure " is about the beauty.
And the basic notion is that we're an extended family, and this planet-- we're going to have to figure out how to raise all boats without eliminating the notion that people can be motivated to be creative by the allure of becoming rich. Next slide. OK, so these are characters from "Existence".

Because I sort of make fun of Davos. But for many of us, it's the allure of we have a ready pool, we can generate data quickly.
They've got these-- many of them are beautiful spirals. I call my book "Spirals in Time." I guess because I wanted to allure to the idea that these things have been around for a long time. And spiraling around. These calcium carbonate spirals have been around for probably for half a billion years.
This is not right. You know? And so once I started to-- once the allure of Broadway and that started to wear off, then I started to be like, mm. OK, OK, OK. And I slowly started to--
It sounds great. So this show jumps everywhere, all over geographically, all over the world. When you two were writing it, was part of the allure to essentially take the audience on a free trip with you all around the world? Yeah because I-- lots of times the way we split it up is Steve is running the set, basically, and I'm running the writers room.
So flash forward 3 and 1/2 years, and I actually see it much differently now where we're not just a media brand, but we're also a brand. So we were talking before we came up here about one of our businesses is the "Allure " Beauty Box. So we now are in consumer products.
So I really appreciate that. Thank you. Beyond just disrupting covers and narratives that you tell in "Allure ," I'm curious to know, from your POV, what are some areas that are ripe for disruption in the beauty industry today?
But I do think that a lot of people do realize that there is that, the emphasis of it, and also just appreciate the artistry. Mm-hmm. Thank you. So "Allure " has also been able to expand the brand with efforts like the Best of Beauty seal that you see in a lot of stores, as well as the "Allure " Beauty Subscription Box. So why do you think these have been so successful for the company?

And sustained careful observation is too many words and it lacks sort of the simplicity and the allure of the word audition but it gets at what's really happening.

But when it comes to beauty, I think there are still a lot of underserved communities that deal with body type, ageism. We, in 2017, famously banned the term anti-aging from "Allure " forever, and it actually became just this global phenomenon where people around the world were talking about it.
is going to get excited about and that she's going to love. So I think that, in the ideal case, is really what the "Allure " Beauty Box should be, that for you at home, if you're a fan of "Allure " on any of the other platforms, or maybe not, you feel like you're getting something that is straight from the editors that we've picked for you.
