What is speech shadowing?
Speech shadowing is an advanced language learning technique where you listen to a native speaker and repeat what they say in real time or immediately after, mirroring their pronunciation, syllable stress, intonation, and speaking rhythm.
How does the AI pronunciation grader calculate my score?
The grader uses speech recognition and sequence alignment algorithms entirely within your browser. It compares your spoken words against the target subtitle phrase, evaluating phonetic matches, close approximations, and skipped words to produce an accuracy score between 0% and 100%.
Is my voice recording sent to any external servers?
No. The entire process runs 100% client-side in your browser using the Web Audio API and native Web Speech API. Your audio recording remains in your device’s memory and is never uploaded, stored on servers, or shared.
